Meet our fabulous panelists:

Heidi Walsh has worked for the Metro Vancouver water utility for 27 years. Metro Vancouver’s three water supply areas encompass over 600 square kilometers of protected forest lands and the region delivers an average of 1 Billion liters of highly quality drinking water daily. In her current role as the Director of Watersheds and Environment, she and her team of 60 staff strive to protect the source water supply for the 2.9 million residents of Metro Vancouver and to support environmental excellence in the water utility. Heidi’s technical education is in fish, wildlife and forest management and she also has a degree in Business Leadership.

Stephanie Voysey P.Eng. is a Professional Engineer and Qualified Environmental Professional with over 18 years of experience in the sustainability and environmental management sector. She graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelors in Applied Science in Chemical Engineering.

As the Head of Sustainability and Environment at Lafarge Canada, Stephanie is responsible for overseeing Lafarge’s sustainability initiatives and ensuring that all sites operate to minimize their impact on the surrounding environment.  She works closely with stakeholders across the organization to develop and implement cutting-edge sustainability programs and initiatives that drive real change. 

Wendy Avis is the Director of Climate and Environment at the Vancouver Airport Authority where she is responsible for leading a team to create innovative new approaches to delivering environmental sustainability and for executing YVR’s Environmental Sustainability Plan, Noise Management Plan and Roadmap to Net Zero by 2030. Wendy has 25 years’ experience in the sustainability field specializing in environmental management systems on issues from energy, waste and water management to climate change mitigation and adaptation. With a BA in Environmental Studies from Brock University and a Masters in Geography from the University of British Columbia, Wendy has worked as a climate change specialist for Environment and Climate Change Canada and for BC Hydro, was the Manager of Environmental Sustainability for Vancouver Community College and worked on the City of Vancouver’s Greenest City Action Plan. She is the Chair of the Airport Council International – North America Chapter Environmental Affairs committee and a member of the World Environment Standing Committee. She also sits on the BC Aviation Council Climate Committee.
