2016 EMA Awards Summary – Updated with Photo Gallery

The 2016 EMA of BC Awards Gala has come and gone, and what a night it was! The awards ceremony was held on Thursday June 16, at the beautiful Royal Vancouver Yacht Club, it was a full house that began with a wonderful Champagne Reception sponsored by Maxxam Analytics. Then the welcome speeches and a lovely sit down meal served with tasty wine that was sponsored by SLR Consulting. The delicious dessert bar followed, and with that the main event the award ceremony began.

The award finalists for each of the three categories presented their projects and representatives from the evenings sponsors; Dillon Consulting, AGAT Laboratories, and Alexander Holburn LLP – announced the winners and handed out the shiny trophies.

The President’s Award was presented by EMA of BC President Carlos da Ponte to Bob Purdy, Director of Development and Outreach at the Fraser Basin Council.

Last but not least was the new introduced award category “Member Choice”, giving the members the opportunity to choose a project they felt deserved an award. The inaugural recipient of this new award was CARO Analytical Services and S. Graham Engineering & Geology.

The evening continued with networking and wonderful music from the jazz trio – Swing-2-Beat.
What a fantastic evening full of great people, great projects, delicious food, jazz music and awards! Everyone would agree that this is a must attend event, so mark it in your calendar for 2017!
