Dear EMA Members,
On behalf of the Board of Directors, I’d like to extend greetings and hope that everyone is staying healthy and safe as our province opens up to Phase 2.
As a not-for-profit organization that focuses on learning about environmental issues, we realize the professional development opportunities we offer may not be required in your workplace at this time. This said, we are continuing to offer relevant information to our membership The EMA will provide significant value through sharing knowledge that is of interest to you and will support your continued work in the environmental sciences. We are always open to ideas on how to do this! For the time being, until we are permitted to gather in-person again, we would like to open our website as a platform for our members to share the great work you do. We would like your posters, articles and webinars to post and share with our other members. So, please either tell us what you’d like to see, send us information to share, or both!
A few of our members have graciously sent articles:
Norton Rose Fulbright: 10 tips to manage environmental risk during uncertain times
Blakes: COVID-19: Your Resource Centre
Also, other not-for-profits like Pacific Legal Education are offering webinars and archives of past sessions. So, although we’ve postponed the EMA Awards Gala, we are planning to bring you events virtually or in-person, as public health permits. Please look out for the golf tournament scheduled for July 16 and an on-line AGM.
As always, if you have any comments or questions, your feedback is appreciated! Please send an email!
Sincerely,
Pamela O, PhD
Executive Director
