2024 EMA of BC Awards – Call for Submissions
The EMA of BC is pleased to announce the return of our annual awards gala on June 13, 2024 (following our AGM)! Award nominations are officially open for the following categories this year:
Environmental Assessment
The Environmental Assessment Award recognizes the methods and completeness of environmental assessment, and the innovative application of design modifications and mitigation strategies. This category also includes the innovative mapping, establishment or preservation of ecosystems, including fisheries, wild land, developments or adapted landscapes.
Technological Innovation
The Award for Technological Innovation recognizes the role of applying new technologies, including acceptance of the inherent risk of failure, to the wide range of environmental challenges faced by Environmental Managers in BC.
Organizational Environmental Programs
The Award for Organizational Environmental Programs recognizes success in internal or external organizational environmental management including such areas as sustainability, social acceptance and social responsibility, quality of work life, community and employee engagement, professional ethics, and sharing of environmental knowledge and experiences.
Please review the Entry Rules to confirm your project qualifies (Note: to be eligible for nomination, only the Lead Environmental Manager needs to be an EMA of BC member organization.) Please complete the Nomination Form by April 16, 2024.
*10th Annual* Emerging Environmental Professional Award – The Emerging Environmental Professionals Award recognizes an individual in their first 5 years in the environmental industry who has shown leadership within their company and the industry; demonstrated excellence in their practices; demonstrated commitment to the delivery of quality projects or results; accomplished outstanding achievements in their applicable fields; and shown leadership in the community. Nominate an Emerging Environmental Professional by May 31, 2024!
*6th Annual* Indigenous Project Award – Call for Submissions – Nominations are now open for the EMA of BC’s 2024 Indigenous Project Award. This award is presented annually in recognition and support of an Indigenous-led environmental project in BC focused on ecosystem restoration; environmental studies/research; or traditional ecological knowledge. Finalists will be announced in June, and the award presented at the EMA of BC 2024 Awards Gala on June 13th, 2024 at the Terminal City Club in Vancouver. To submit a project for consideration for the Indigenous Project Award, please submit nomination form by May 31, 2024.
