Andrew Schmidt

Andrew Schmidt manages Summit Earthworks’ various Ministry of Environment permitted facilities. Those include two bioremediation treatment facilities located in Mission BC and the wood waste and contaminated soil facility in Quesnel BC. Responsibilities include directing and managing the personnel and equipment required to operate the various facilities, review all received soil disposal applications and the associated analytical data to determine if the soil is suitable for Summit’s facilities. He is also responsible for overseeing the treatment, sampling, and delisting of the soils as applicable.

Andrew started his career in environmental consulting before shifting to the contracting side of the industry.  He has over 21 years of hands-on experience in assessing and remediating contaminated sites in British Columbia and Alberta. He has developed expertise in contaminated site investigation and remediation during this period, including Stage I Preliminary Site Investigations (PSI) and designing and implementing Stage II PSIs and Stage III Detailed Site Investigations (DSI).

He has been involved in numerous projects that involved emergency response and spill clean-up, site investigation and remediation, and soil and water treatment and disposal.

Andrew has an Environmental Protection Technology diploma from Kwantlen Polytechnic University and is an Applied Science Technologist.  Andrew is excited to be a first-time board member as a director at large.
